Iris Ophelia, one of the editors of Second Style and a lovely friend of mine IM'd me recently to ask me to make the plaque for an award! I was quite happy to accept that, since I knew it wouldn't take me too long. I whipped together a nice logo in sculpts, plus the textures, and then I realized that if Second Style is going to be passing out awards made by me, I still haven't submitted an ad. The last one I posted (that you guys were very kind and generous with in your comments) still didn't seem right to me, so I went back and took more pictures. I used the same concept and the same "wardrobe", but changed the approach a bit. Let me know what you guys think of this one:

I really love the cheating of the "bits" in this one, as well as still having a sexy naked woman and I think it shows the wings really well. Ok, I know it shows the wings really well, dayem, I want to go and buy them and I have them already! You can compare it to the other one via this link

Still, feel free to post input and opinions, but I'm pretty sure this is what I'm going to be using unless someone has a great suggestion :D

I really love how soft this is, as well as despite being all black, the accessories can still all be seen against the background. Despite the figure being obviously nude, it is not overtly sexual- the natural beauty of the human body provides a great canvas for the items on display. Good job, Siyu!

I much preferred the first one you did. It's gentle and mysterious and the emphasis is on the accessories not OMG NAKED WOMAN! which is unfortunately what my thoughts with the current picture was. Admittedly that makes it much more striking and eye-catching which is what you want on an advert. I think to me it's the amount of flesh that you reveal that's the issue. If it were cut off a little higher up, at her belly-button perhaps then I don't think I'd have the same OMG reaction. You're meant to be selling the accessories, not the skin after all and it seems as if the skin takes up the majority of the picture. The skin catches the eye, the accessories meld into the black of the background so I find my eye drawn to naked woman and not to your lovely creations. But then I doubt I'm the target audience for this sort of advert. On my monitor though I don't get sufficient contrast between the blacks and so it all blends in it is difficult to make out details of the mask and wings. Also the wording seems a touch awkward. You don't need the "known for." I'd be more drawn to specifics, such as masks, hats and other unique accessories, or whatever is appropriate. Though that does double up the accessories on your tagline.

Thanks you guys!! I'm happy I'm definitely giving a lack of "sexxors me" and giving more of "I'm gawjuss" vibe from the nudity, but yes there is more naked woman to oggle this time. I did try putting the lettering up higher, but I really love the hand placement cupping the lettering, and of course that lovely curve of the hip is one of the most beautifully soft and feminine curves there is. On my monitor there's enough contrast that the wings and feathers are clear enough to be seen, but fade into the black background. I'd like to know if a few other people are having your same problem, Nor. I'll take it in world and ask a few people.

I might agree with you on the "known for", I might just go with "Masks, hats, and other unique items of excellent quality", but I did like that sort of old world humility of saying the excellent quality from a third party.

Oo, hmm, maybe I should add my EFADA win, or maybe a quote from a blogger

I think this one is just as effective as the first one. Of course it draws your eyes to the body of the figure because of the colour contrast between the skin and the background. But to me that doesn't make it any inappropriate because nudity does not equal racy and from what I've read from the comments of the previous design most would agree. Apparently the nude isn't hidden as much as the last time instead it has a more natural and definite skin tone. As Siyu said she is trying to emphasis the beauty of the feminine curves and the nude has became part of the image that the advertisement is selling therefore it is just as important is the products themselves. Design is often about finding the balance between aesthetics and functions but some how most of us always seem to underestimate our ability to interpret information. If the image isn't giving a clear message of what it is selling surely the texts are more that enough to do the job. If not might as well just show a black mask on a white background with no nude but I doubt that it would remind as sophisticated as it is. I also like how the mask is not warping right around the edges of the eyes this time which looks more comfortable and natural. About the texts the word “blurring” might require kerning between the double “r” or maybe use a script typefaces for the slogan to echo the ornamental lines at the background. The texts at the bottom instead of using sentences it can be more simple such as “quality masks and accessories at the region of Carnivale” and then just the website at the corner. The phrase “unique items” kind of leaves me clueless. I really love the overall design and the more I look at it the more I like it. I truly think a well designed advertisement should be blurring the line between art and advertisings.

If Siyu want to soften the nude figure maybe try something like what is done in one of the poster of the movie "prestige" how that scarlett johansson is blended into the smoke. Image link below:

I still love the first one you did. I'm not entirely sure why though. I think because I love the B&W contrast. The second one, I'm more focused on the pink of the skin, not the mask and wings.

This second one is great, but the first one is absolutely stunning :D

While the first one was pretty, I find this one stunning.
It makes me want to go buy it, just to look like her. Great job Siyu!
